Remcodekrusel Some names come to my mind: (early) Simon Finn, Fosdyk Well, Willard Grant Conspiracy with a nice country-sauce; the American Recordings- Johnny Cash but three times better (and I really like the American Recordings...). Favorite track: I Lose Control.

Howl 03:14
feel the pull of the changing tide the moon is full and it's beginning to rise ain't no place for our prey to hide i'm gonna sing down the stars with my pack tonight and howl howl howl howl our pads keep moving as the night unfolds the moonlight it takes us to the end of the road our pack has it's honor, a moral code to take care of each other wherever we go and howl howl howl howl the footfalls echo through the frosty air just cause you can't see us don't mean we're not there your faith in authority don't mean a thing on the day you're surrounded by wolves in a ring that's why we howl howl howl howl howl howl howl howl

you could never turn your back on the pain that you can't see better keep your blindfold tight cause it's your guard against the cracks... in the american dream you see her out upon the street with her cup within her hand the wanderer without a tribe is forced to beg for bread to live... in this promised land oh purple mountain majesties oh those amber waves of grain the lowly ones within our midst they always seem to be the ones... who need and get no rain

Monsters! 04:25
i stand on the corner surveilling the scene with my solid gold hemingway bullshit machine a detector of lies a detector of spin a detector of hypocrites trying to win fortune and fame, silver and gold, a column of print so their story can be told a story with a basis only in their heads but it springs to life the moment it's read yeah yeah yeah oh yeah well they didn't have a purpose or know what they're here for, they needed excitement so they started a war their tiny little intellects couldn't conceive of a world that wasn't evil, they'd rather believe that they're persecuted one of the chosen few they boiled their madness man they made it a stew they created the monsters imbued with their rage, imagine their surprise when they walked off the page yeah yeah yeah oh yeah the monsters are walking now out on the street, the undead are looking for someone to eat credulous people with anger inside, petulant cowards with something to hide they knock on the door with something to sell, promises perfumed with the fragrance of hell the people ask the monsters into their homes and soon all that's left of them are their bones yeah yeah yeah oh yeah monsters monsters monsters monsters so if you're a survivor let's take our city back, humans should be agents instead of a snack the monsters were created by those seeking a name, voluntary ignorance should be met with shame the monsters grow stronger when they're received, their bodies lose focus when they're not believed the cloak of the righteous is the monsters disguise, they only hold power cause we honor their lies yeah yeah yeah oh yeah monsters monsters monsters monsters monsters monsters monsters monsters monsters monsters

The Secret 04:20
i think it's strange that no one told me bout the secret it's something simple everyone should know when you're on top not to go down to the bottom or think about the ones below or think about the ones below it's why the banks they bleed the poor man for their dollar pour their lives out upon the ground one of these days when they lay down their guard it'll all come back around it'll all come back around the rich man say that he's gonna build a tower he say it's gonna last until the end of time but upon the day when your maker pulls your card these things ain't worth a dime these things ain't worth a dime i think it's strange that no one told me bout the secret it's something simple everyone should know when you're on top not to go down to the bottom or think about the ones below or think about the ones below or think about the ones below

Spurs 03:44
i'll spend my speed between your thighs the trail becomes a blur i only choose to give my strength to those who wear no spurs my heart belongs only to those who choose to wear no spurs for love and fear cannot be near so lay aside your spurs your gentle touch is asking me to take you into town but when your metal pierced my flank i threw that burden down the kind who seek to work as one i choose to give my will but the power whores who would enslave i'll bite and kick and kill my heart belongs only to those who choose to wear no spurs for love and fear cannot be near so lay aside your spurs the alchemists who sought to change their steel to speed in me their fractured bodies line the ground and i am running free so toss away your devil knives incline your soul to me and all my power and skill is thine a strength that no one sees my heart belongs only to those who choose to wear no spurs for love and fear cannot be near so lay aside your spurs my heart belongs only to those who choose to wear no spurs for love and fear cannot be near so lay aside your spurs my heart belongs only to those who choose to wear no spurs for love and fear cannot be near so lay aside your spurs so lay aside your spurs so lay aside your spurs

as he heard the whistle of the train that came to take his life he thought about his children, he thought about his wife and with a shout he raised his voice and he was heard to say “oh come now golden eagle to carry me away!” la la la la la la la la, golden eagle, come! well the mob they stood around him with clubs within their hands to break apart and crush the flesh of him who made a stand well they said that he was guilty and they said that he was wrong but he stood there on the scaffold and sang that eagle song la la la la la la la la, golden eagle, come! then like thunder from the heavens, that golden eagle fell and he took apart the masses that had made that killer's hell he landed next the gallows and that hangman brushed aside as he parted all them shackles and away the captive flied la la la la la la la la, golden eagle, come! as he floated through the heavens beneath the eagle's wings oh that rescued liberated man he lifts his voice and sings and he thanked that golden eagle who had freed him from his plight that he'd see his wife and children and he'd be with them tonight la la la la la la la la, golden eagle, come! when the eagle had returned the one he'd rescued from the crowd his triumph shook the heavens and his challenge echoed loud, “o to all you foolish people, o you wicked seeking blood one day I will be back for you, you'll perish in the flood” la la la la la la la la, golden eagle, come!

congregation of the outcast the only place i make my home god's holy priesthood those chosen people they cast me out to seek his face alone they say the mercy has no condition they say that love it has no strings i have no guilt that that has been chosen yet i'm inhuman an unclean thing they bound upon me a heavy burden tied a weight a weight that none would share to daily drive off those who'd come near me to ease my sadness with love and care i did not pick the the things which caused them to cast me far from god's heavenly throne for that which keeps me now from his presence and from the brethren none can atone and in a circle beyond the city we lift our voices and as one we pray we ask the lord to to send messiah or else the darkness to take our shame away congregation of the outcast the only place i make my home god's chosen priesthood those holy people they cast me out to seek his face alone

the blind man came into our midst in search of something more the echoes of the music, they drew him through the door he stumbled to your gathering for respite from the pain he was after kindness, you covered him with shame but i don't want no preacher's robe i want the crown of thorns i'd rather bind up all the wounds of those whose skin is torn and i don't want to sit the throne i'll never wear the sword i'll be here in the gutter with the lepers and my lord i'll be here in the gutter with the lepers and my lord you wouldn't even talk to him or sit there by his side the narrow trail was calling, instead you choose to hide you wouldn't hold his arm for him when he was bound to fall as far as you all were convinced, he wasn't there at all but i don't want no preacher's robe i want the crown of thorns i'd rather bind up all the wounds of those whose skin is torn and i don't want to sit the throne i'll never wear the sword i'll be here in the gutter with the lepers and my lord i'll be here in the gutter with the lepers and my lord the blind man left your gathering all angry and alone a lack of hospitality that cannot be condoned you didn't know the nature of the one you pushed away the man that you neglected, you'll see him judgment day but i don't want no preacher's robe i want the crown of thorns i'd rather bind up all the wounds of those whose skin is torn and i don't want to sit the throne i'll never wear the sword i'll be here in the gutter with the lepers and my lord i'll be here in the gutter with the lepers and my lord

about

These are all songs written after watching a dream crumble and in the process of picking up the pieces. The concepts are simple: I will now operate for myself or for people who I trust. I will not give of myself in order to work for people who have proven themselves to be shady.

Acknowledgements:

This album, volume 5, much is owed to the following people who directly inspired or influenced or supported the music to a crazy level: Deb Maloy, Allison Durham, Cody Williams, Laurie Holman, Zack McCarter, Toni Hinson, Catharine Hess. And Scott Blais, you and Kat indirectly influenced the title track. There are others to whom I owe much but right here you all are the ones who need to be recognized and thanked for your influence on my life and music, on this particular album anyway.
